remarkable Photography from unremarkable spaces: SAMUEL RYDE’S E-COMMERCE EVOLUTION.
The Challenge
Samuel Ryde’s collection of fine art photography has been exhibited around the globe and featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC and more. Whilst always a hit at Satchii Art’s “The Other Art Fair” translating this success into his Squarespace e-commerce art store was letting him down with conversion rates far below half a percent.
The Outcome
A purpose built Shopify e-commerce store that allowed a prospective customer to easily navigate through Samuel Ryde’s art, inspect individual pieces through high resolution photographs, descriptions, and context imagery.
I also worked with Samuel to ensure that he had confidence in his numbers, mapping out his margins so that we can predict growth more effectively against his efforts. Further e-commerce education on the fundamentals of e-commerce has helped Samuel to create stronger sales pages that demonstrate the value of his work through production imagery, reviews and more.
Whilst I continue to consult with Samuel to improve his store, we’ve found that initial results are positive, with conversion rates already exceeding 2%.
