Two Harcourt Buildings

Migrating a legacy website without losing it’s essence; all whilst streamlining the user experience and ease of updating.

The Challenge

Two Harcourt Buildings website was starting to functionally break and had become difficult to update as they remained on a legacy Squarespace 7.0 build. With the automatic migration tool within Squarespace preventing a smooth update to 7.1, it was clear that not only would we need to build the site from the ground up, but also find new ways for users to interact with it.

Beyond this, Two Harcourt Buildings wanted everything to remain as similar as possible to the existing site whilst being able to update the site without assistance from graphic designers or web developers; a problem they had been facing for quite some time.

The Outcome

A complete rebuild of their site on Squarespace 7.1 that remained faithful to their existing design whilst adding in new functionality that enabled a smoother experience for users navigating, in particular, their extensive team of Barristers on both desktop and mobile.

The previous site structure was optimised, updated and re-mapped (where relevant) to facilitate the future building of additional pages and sections without the need for a developer. In addition to this areas of the site that had previously been un-updatable without the use of a graphic designer were rebuilt directly on platform to enable easy updates.

The project concluded with the production of videos, and a follow up live calls, to educate the internal team on how to update their site independently of us.

“I couldn't recommend Forrest highly enough. He did an excellent job of updating our website with great efficiency, he suggested improvements while staying within his brief and he resolved any issues that arose with skill and calmness. He even resolved a ghastly mistake I made whilst he was on a plane! A direct quote follows from one of our barristers: 'I think you've found a real gem with Forrest and he's done a really good job. He seems like a nice guy too!' We will definitely use him for any future projects.”
